Women’s Cricket

In the beginning...

Summer 2004 saw the formation of the Lamma Women’s Cricket Club which joined two other sides — Kowloon CC and Hong Kong CC — to be founding members of the first ever Hong Kong Women’s Cricket League, under the auspices of the Hong Kong Cricket Association.

Chaired/managed by Lamma CC’s scorer, Kim Leung, and captained by Kiwi player coach, Neisha Pratt, the LWCC is very cosmopolitan, made up of local Chinese players, English, Australians, New Zealanders etc. Our players have varying degrees of ability from complete novices to pretty darn good! We practice every Friday evening at Kowloon Cricket Club.

All Women’s League matches this first season are being played at Hong Kong’s newest cricket ground, Po Kong Village Road, in Diamond Hill. Matches have essentially the same format as the HKCA Saturday League matches (ie. 35 overs per innings with a 1.15pm start).

For more information about the Lamma Women’s Cricket team, or if you are interested in joining, please contact Kim Leung by kimleunghk@gmail.com, or call her on 2869 9069 during office hours.
