Bethan Greaves
Full Name: Bethan Greaves
Nickname: None. Definitely NOT Beth or Bethany — uugh.
Born: July 1975, in Coventry. Lovely.
Batting Style: Right Hand Bat. Defense? Does not compute.
Bowling Style: I go all out for sheer entertainment value.
Location: Soho
Occupation: Music stuff — take a peek at www.katterwall.com if the mood strikes.
Interests (outside cricket): Performing, reading, hanging with my cats, drinking — not necessarily in that order.
Previous Cricketing Experience:
From 0–13 attending all my dad’s cricket games and practicing with the (all male) junior team. Nets at school once (they didn’t let girls play, of course). Then a hiatus of 17 years.
Reason(s) for joining Lamma Women’s CC: It’s about the only team game I actually like and enjoy. I like the variety and the tradition too (and am not such a huge fan of too much running, truth be told).
Best and/or worst cricketing memories: Best? Invitational 6s last year, being told I was wicket-keeper ten minutes before the final. I’d never done it before but hugely satisfying. Or maybe the C&B in the 6s the year before. Worst? Basically any other over I’ve ever tried to bowl.
Favourite current international player: God knows. I am a do-er more than a watcher. I am guessing Ian Botham doesn’t count anymore?!?!?!
