An enormous amount of work went into preparing the Karon Stadium and laying the pitch in readiness for the tournament. The stadium had been hit three months before by the Boxing Day tsunami

Imran retires after another great knock with the bat
Brad’s most memorable knock was hitting a hat trick of 6s off South African pro-cricketer Kenny Jackson during the quarterfinal of the Cup competition, one completely clearing the stand

Our neighbours from across the Delta, the Macau Scrubbers. Simon (third from left) spent more time in the first-aid tent than on the pitch; he not only snapped his achilles on the third day, but was hospitalised by a blow on the head from Imran’s first ball on the opening morning of the tournament
The impressive floodlights at Karon Stadium were used for a Twenty20 charity fundraising match one evening allowing cricket to be played to the highest standard, including what was surely the catch of the tournament by ex-Australian Test player Trevor Chappell
The two teams were captained by stars Trevor Chappell (Australia) and Kenny Jackson (South Africa) and included a selection of the best players taking part in the tournament, including Imran representing LCC

Ravi admires the Cup — what with a nasty bump on the head and copious quantities of Heineken, Ravi probably thinks he’s bought this in the charity auction, where, despite the protestations of his team-mates, he insisted on loudly bidding for everything on offer
We might have returned home empty-handed as far as silverware and team kit were concerned, but Lamma CC walked off with the unofficial best-dressed team award
